Junior League of Long Island to Revitalize Belmont Childcare Association’s Anna House Playground April 1

The Junior League of Long Island (JLLI) in partnership with the Belmont Child Care Association, Inc. (BCCA) is pleased to announce that its Project Playground initiative will take place on Saturday, April 1 at the Belmont Childcare Association’s Anna House located in Elmont, NY. There are an anticipated 40 JLLI volunteers to help with installation of new playground equipment, painting fences and storage units, and tidying up the grounds. 

The Belmont Child Care Association, Inc. (BCCA) was created to establish a child care center at Belmont Park which has the largest population of backstretch workers of the three New York Racing Association, Inc. (NYRA) tracks. The crown jewel of the Belmont Child Care Association programs is Anna House, a full scale childcare and early childhood education facility located at Belmont Park.

Letter to the Editor: Jingle Bells Ring for the Backstretch Families!

The Belmont Child Care Association, Inc. (BCCA) annually hosts a Holiday Shopping Day for all of the families of backstretch workers at Belmont Park and Aqueduct Race Track. This year, BCCA held its event on Saturday, Dec. 3 in the clubhouse at Belmont Park. The Belmont Cafe was transformed into a Winter Wonderland which included a Sugar Plum Cafe and Holiday Shop. Thanks to the New York Racing Association (NYRA), BCCA was provided with a beautiful venue to host its event and NYRA's facilities and security departments provided much needed support on all levels.

Belmont Child Care Association Celebrates 20 Years

This year, Belmont Child Care Association is celebrating 20 years of providing an early childhood education and development program for children year-round at Anna House located at Belmont Park. To commemorate, our 2022 graduates presented BCCA Founder and Chairman, Michael Dubb, with a special painting.

Graduation Day as Anna House Celebrates 20th Anniversary

The Belmont Child Care Association (BCCA) celebrated the Anna House Class of 2022 graduation Tuesday at Belmont Park with 12 students from its early childhood education program for the children of backstretch workers based at Belmont Park, Aqueduct Racetrack and Saratoga Race Course.

The ceremony, attended by New York state and local elected officials and community leaders, marked the completion of the children's year-round pre-K program, where they were taught English, math, reading, gardening, art, nutrition and other topics in a STEAM-based curriculum.

Luncheon raises $100K for Belmont Child Care Association

The Spring Fling fundraising luncheon raised $100,000 for the Belmont Child Care Association.

Held earlier this month at the Garden City Hotel, the event honored Angela Jaggar, Erin King Sweeney and the Junior League of Long Island for their charitable efforts on behalf of the BCCA, which supports the many Belmont Park backstretch workers and their families.

The crown jewel of the BCCA programs is Anna House, a child-care and early childhood education facility located on the Elmont racetrack’s grounds.

Faith's House Opens in Saratoga

With just minutes to spare before rain started falling Wednesday afternoon, the ceremonial ribbon cutting was completed to formally open Faith's House, the new child care center at Saratoga Race Course.

The 4,500-square foot building is located across Union Avenue from the track next to what was long known as the Jockey Y and more recently as the Backstretch Recreation Center. It is named for the late mother of Michael Dubb, the Long Island developer, Thoroughbred owner and driving force behind the project of the Belmont Child Care Association (BCCA).

If you see Michael Dubb this summer, Saratoga, pat him on the back. The homebuilding mogul and winner of seven year-end NYRA owner titles is the man behind Saratoga Race Course’s new 4,300-square-foot childcare center, which will serve the children of the track’s workers. 

Called Faith’s House and located on the Oklahoma side of Union Avenue, the facility will provide childcare services and early education programs for up to 35 infants, toddlers and preschool-aged children. The facility is divided into sections based on age group, and it comes equipped with everything from cribs and toys to iPads and an outdoor playground. It’ll also be open seven days a week, 5am-5pm, to accommodate the oft-nontraditional hours of trainers and backstretch workers.

The Belmont Child Care Association, Inc. (BCCA) today offered a first look at Faith's House, the new child care center at Saratoga Race Course, which is set to begin serving families and children of the backstretch community in summer 2021.

Race Track Will Have New Childcare Center

The Belmont Child Care Association says its new childcare center serving families and children of the backstretch community at Saratoga Race Course is scheduled to open this summer.

The 4,300-square-foot center will be located on the Oklahoma side of the Saratoga backstretch. Funded by Michael and Lee Dubb, the facility will be named Faith’s House in honor of Faith Dubb, mother of BCCA founder and board chairman Michael Dubb.

Belmont Park's Anna House Offers Remote Learning

It has been a full day for school-age children headed home on a recent afternoon from Anna House, the childcare and early-childhood education facility at Belmont Park designed for the families of backstretch workers.

In normal times, these students would be attending class at their local grade schools. But with the help of several grants secured by the Belmont Child Care Association, Inc. (BCCA), which oversees the operation at Anna House, they're part of a new virtual learning program in which grade-school children of backstretch workers are attending school at Anna House by using a combination of remote learning and in-person teaching.

Daycare for Children of Backstretch Workers Coming to Saratoga

Backstretch workers have some of the most challenging and vital jobs at Saratoga Race Course. It’s a demanding line of work that can be difficult to balance with raising a family.

A non-profit is stepping in to help in a big way. A daycare is coming to Saratoga Race Course. The non-profit behind the project is the Belmont Child Care Association. The facility will mainly be for the children of backstretch workers.

hen owner Michael Dubb became aware of children of backstretch workers sleeping in cars or being left home with siblings, he responded by having Beechwood Organization, his real estate development firm, build Anna House at Belmont Park n 2002.

He again sees a need, this time in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., and is well along with plans to build and open a similar day care and learning center at Saratoga Race Course. He is working to determine the feasibility of a site he has identified on the Oklahoma side of the track.

On Sunday afternoon at Saratoga Race Course, Michael Dubb stood in the winner’s circle. He’d just watched his 3-year-old filly Monomoy Girl, owned in partnership with Monomoy Stables, The Elkstone Group, and Bethlehem Stables, impressively win the Grade 1 Coaching Club American Oaks, his fourth Grade 1 Saratoga win, the first three coming in the Spinaway.
