Bringing the Magic of the Holidays to Racing’s Families

Each December, the Belmont Child Care Association (BCCA) transforms Anna House at Belmont Park into a magical Winter Wonderland for the children of New York’s Thoroughbred racing community.

More than 500 children take part in this cherished tradition, “shopping” for gifts for their loved ones with the help of their very own elf. Every item is brand new — and everything is completely free for families, thanks to the incredible generosity of donors, sponsors, and volunteers.

ABOUT BCCA

The Belmont Child Care Association, Inc. (BCCA) provides a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for the children of Thoroughbred racing’s backstretch workers at Belmont Park, Aqueduct Racetrack, and Saratoga Race Course.

Through its early childhood education programs at Anna House and Faith’s House, BCCA helps children learn, grow, and dream — while giving their families peace of mind knowing their children are cared for with love from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m., 365 days a year.

🍪 Cookies with Santa

The joy continues with our Cookies with Santa celebration! Children come to Anna House in their pajamas for story time, cookies, and a special visit from Santa. Each child receives a gift from their wish list — a small moment that makes a big memory.

A Magical Day of Giving

Each December, Anna House at Belmont Park is transformed into a winter wonderland for the children of New York’s racing community. With help from their very own elves, each child “shops” for presents for their family — entirely free of charge.

Every toy, sweater, book, and kitchen gift is made possible by the generosity of donors, sponsors, and volunteers. Together, we bring the holiday spirit to life for more than 500 children each year.

Our Annual Holiday Shopping event is pure joy from start to finish. You can see the happiness on every child’s face as they shop for their family and feel the love that fills the room. It is a beautiful reminder that the heart of the holidays is not what we receive, but what we give.
— Libby Imperio, President, BCCA
When I was a little girl, the elves made the holidays magical for me. Now I get to help make that magic for someone else, and that’s what this day is all about.
