GRETCHEN JACKSON, BOARD MEMBER

Gretchen and her husband, Roy, are long-time Thoroughbred owners and breeders who love horses and competition. They race under Lael Stables and their most notable horse was 2007 Kentucky Derby winner, Barbaro. Their other star athletes included: Showing Up, Precious Kitten, and Diving Rod. Together, the Jacksons support many equine and backstretch organizations as well as racehorse retraining programs.

Gretchen is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and she holds a Master of Science degree from Catholic University. She has studied early childhood education and counseling which was what initially peaked her interest in BCCA. As a mother of four (three boys and one girl) she understands the importance of providing children with a strong educational foundation from a young age and she has been a proud long-time supporter of BCCA’s mission.
