JOANNE K. ADAMS, BCCA Executive Director

Joanne K. Adams is the Executive Director of the Belmont Child Care Association, Inc, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization which provides early childhood education and development to the children of backstretch workers at Belmont Park, Aqueduct Race Track, and Saratoga Race Course. Adams oversees the operation of two childcare centers: Anna House at Belmont Park and Faith’s House at Saratoga Race Course. She manages staff, creates fundraising strategies for campaigns, special events, appeals, benefits, and grants, and implements the marketing and public relations plan for the charity. She is the former Director of Community Relations for The New York Racing Association, Inc. and she has been involved in the Thoroughbred racing industry for over twenty years.

Adams has received numerous awards for her community service and volunteerism, and highlights include: the New York State Senate Liberty Award, Garden City Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year Award, Nassau County Legislature Women’s History Month Trailblazer, Garden City Historical Society Trailblazer, Power Women of Long Island, and she was named one of Thoroughbred racing's Unsung Heroes by the Thoroughbred Times.  She has over thirty years of corporate and philanthropic work experience and she has held numerous leadership and board positions. She is a past president of the American Women's Club of Geneva, Switzerland; Founding member of the Geneva, Switzerland - America Center; past president of the Garden City Historical Society; past president of the Garden City Chamber of Commerce Foundation, and past president of the Stewart Fund. Adams previously served on the boards of the American Red Cross of Long Island and the Advisory Board of the Ronald McDonald House of Long Island. She is currently an executive board member of Play for P.I.N.K., board member of the Greek Orthodox Cathedral of Saint Paul, board member of the Philoptochos Society of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocesan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, co-chair of the U.S. Marines Toys for Tots Long Island campaign, and she is a sustaining member of the Junior League of the City of New York.

Adams graduated from the Cathedral School of St. Mary, Garden City, NY and received her B.A. from Wheaton College, Norton, MA.
